EMI Ferrite / Ferrite Core
Nearly 40 years ago, KITAGAWA INDUSTRIES designed plastic casings for clamp-type ferrite cores. Since then, KGS has incorporated a wide range of ferrite cores with excellent impedance performance for EMI mitigation and suppression. They can even be used to suppress a small amount of ESD!
While the ferrite’s shape factor (ratio between the middle diameter and cross-sectional area) will largely determine the impedance performance, other variables should be considered during the ferrite core selection and testing process. These variables include the device’s problematic frequency (target frequency), length of the cable, location of the ferrite on the cable, whether the cable will be turned around the ferrite core, type of noise to be suppressed (common mode vs differential mode), as well as the formulation of the ferrite material that will work best for the target frequency.
KGS America offers an extensive array of ferrites including clamp-type (also known as split-type or two-piece cores), single-piece type (includes sleeve and toroidal shapes), flat cable cores (in both split and single-piece), flexible ferrite cores (for delicate cables and portable devices), broadband amorphous cores, and automotive-grade cores that can withstand high temperatures and high vibration environments.

Ferrite Sheets and Tiles for Chip/CPU
KITAGAWA INDUSTRIES America Inc. offers EMI ferrite tiles (SD tiles) and flexible ferrite sheets (FFS series) for emission noise and coupling issues caused by CPUs/ICs.
The Ferrite sheets also work for RFID malfunctions to correct the magnetic loop emitted sothat RFID readers can work properly.
Overall they increase the reading range as well by gathering magnetic field to strengthen the signals to read tags and other items. KITAGAWA INDUSTRIES America Inc.’s FFS flexible ferrite sheets are very thin and flexible to be applied into the applications such as RFID, NFC (near field communication), and NFP (near field power) applications.
