How a Ferrite Works
Noise current generates a magnetic field which is concentrated into magnetic flux inside the ferrite by the core’s magnetic permeability (u’). This magnetic field inside the ferrite is reduced by the ferrite’s magnetic loss, which is then converted into heat energy. As a result, flowing noise current in the lines is reduced, or in other words, filtered.
Magnetic field generated by electrical current
