Ferrite Cores are important for ensuring strong electronic signals through cables in environments where EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) can be a problem.
Filtering is an element of EMC design that suppresses conductive noise in conductors such as cables and IC leads. It attenuates or absorbs noise in unnecessary range while allowing only signals at specified necessary frequencies to pass through. Installing the ferrite cores over the affected cables where the current flows increases the impedance and reduces the propagation of noise current due to the magnetization of the ferrite cores. In general the phenomenon of the magnetization of ferrite cores is the process of converting the noise to negligible heat energy and dissipating it.
Using this the method of filtering noise, ferrite cores, sometimes called “Ferrite Beads,” are placed/clipped onto cables in order to suppress high frequency noise levels in electronic signals. Ferrite cores are among the most inexpensive means to reduce EMI noise in an environment involving preexisting electronic cabling. Some ferrite cores require the cable or wire to be wrapped around 6 or 7 times within the core, which is a method called turning, while other ferrite core products simply snap around an existing wire.

Ferrite Tiles and Sheets for Chip/CPU
KITAGAWA INDUSTRIES America Inc. offers EMI ferrite tiles (SD tiles) and flexible ferrite sheets (FFS series) for emission noise and coupling issues caused by CPUs/ICs. The Ferrite sheets also work for RFID malfunctions to correct the magnetic loop emitted so that RFID readers can work properly. Overall they increase the reading range as well by gathering magnetic field to strengthen the signals to read tags and other items.
